When you want the paid part
Share it with a parent.
The check-up itself costs nothing and needs nobody's permission — do it tonight, on your own, and find out what's actually going on. If you decide you want the rest, someone with a card has to say yes, and the version of that conversation that works doesn't open with "can I have $40." It opens with what you found out.
- Do the free part first. Asking for money before you have anything to show is the version that gets a no. Half an hour fixes that.
- Lead with the diagnosis, not the price. Something like: "I did a free ACT thing tonight. It says I'm losing most of my points on stuff I wasn't even studying. There's a $40 version that drills exactly that — one payment, it doesn't renew, and there's a page that explains it. Can you look?"
- Send the page, not the pitch. It answers the three things they'll ask anyway: what it costs, what happens to your data, and who's behind it.

How long does the free check-up take?
Depends which subject. English and Science are about 20 minutes; Math and Reading run closer to 35. It's 20 to 32 questions and it isn't timed, so nobody's rushing you. Do one now and the others whenever — each ends with a report: your strong areas, your weak ones, and which topics to fix first.
Do I have to sign up for anything?
You take the whole check-up first — no account, no card, no email. At the end you make a free account with an email and a password so your report saves and syncs to your other devices. Your answers are already stored on the phone by then, so nothing is lost either way. Still no card at that step, and nothing starts billing.
What does it cost, and is anything going to keep charging me?
The check-ups are free and need no card, and there's no trial clock running in the background. If you want everything, the two-month pass is $39.99: one payment, no card saved, and it expires on its own — there is literally nothing to cancel, and a full refund is yours if you ask within 7 days. The month-to-month plan ($24.99, first 3 days free, once per account) is a subscription and does need a card; if you pick that one, your exact charge date is shown on the plan screen before you enter it, and cancelling is two taps from Account → Manage billing.

Does anyone see my results?
No. There's no parent dashboard, and we don't send anyone a report about you. If you want a parent to see how it's going, you show them — on your phone, when you feel like it.
Is this the new (Enhanced) ACT?
Yes — current sections, timing, and question styles. On the new ACT your composite comes from English + Math + Reading, and Science is optional with its own score. Aurene covers all four, so you can prep Science or skip it. And if there's an old prep book on your desk — it isn't useless. It still teaches the right skills. It just teaches the wrong test.
What if my score is bad?
Then you found out here — free — instead of on test day for $70. A rough check-up isn't a verdict; it's a map. It just means your plan starts with the cheapest points to win back.
How do I cancel?
On the two-month pass there's nothing to cancel — it just stops. On the monthly plan it's Account → Manage billing → cancel. Two taps, no phone call, no guilt trip. Details in our Terms and Refund Policy.
